A. Dale Starnes, 66, passed away August 23, 2012. He was born in Union County on January 7, 1946, son of the late Amon and Lela Walden Starnes. Funeral services will be Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Roanoke Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. Starnes is survived by his wife, Edith Byrum Starnes; brothers, Raeford Starnes of Monroe and Melvin Mickey Starnes of Peachland; sister, Verna Funderburk of Monroe and nieces and nephews.
