Albert Hallman McCray, 81, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born February 17, 1937 in Union County son of the late Roy and Geneva Newman McCray. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC, 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Hallman is survived by his loving wife Shelby Jean Aycoth McCray, and two sons, Douglas “Doug” (Kathy) McCray, and Eric (Tracy) McCray, two daughters, Teresa, (Jerry) Helms, and Cathy (Steve) Brooks, he is also survived by three sisters, Carolyn Franklin, Judy Lane, and Nancy Horton, and eight grandchildren, Ginger H. Lohrer, Jeremy Helms, Tyler Brooks, Kyle Brooks, Whitley Hargett, Rachel McCray, Erica McCray and Jacob McCray and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special thank you to caregiver Patsy Rollins, Hospice of Union County as well as the hospice nurse’s Kristin Hildreth and Andrea Walker for their loving care they gave Hallman.
