Allen Jefferson Simpson, 85, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. He was born May 11, 1928 in Union County, son of the late Hoyle Jefferson and Myrtle Marylee Simpson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Neal Simpson and sister, Peggy Simpson. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 1:00 - 1:45 PM prior to the service. Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Marie Hinklebein Simpson; sons, Michael J. Simpson and wife Cynthia L. of Monroe and Eric D. Simpson and wife Nancy of Belmont; daughter, Marion E. Reckrey of Monroe; brothers, Olin and Roger Simpson and sisters, Helen Price and Violet Medlin.
