Alma Louise Helms Williams

Monroe, NC - Alma Louise Helms Williams, 73, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 2, 2006. Alma was born in Union County, NC, July 26, 1932, daughter of the late James Lester and Tompie Reeder Helms. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, a devoted Christian who loved the church and God. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in the garden and caring for her flowers. She was retired from Mutual Industries. We wish to thank the staff of Carolinas Medical Center- Main, the Council on Aging, the Ladies Adult Sunday School Class of Grace Baptist Church along with other family and friends for their prayers and support. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 5, 2006, at 3:00 PM, in Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Alma is survived by her husband Roy Clegg Williams; sons Gary Williams of Fountain Inn, SC and Stoney Williams of Midland, NC; daughters Gail Horne and Wanda Love of Monroe; sisters Eula Helms of Locust, NC and Ila Coble of Monroe, NC; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
