Amos A. Benton

Amos A. Benton, 70, died Thursday, May 1, 2008. He was born in Union County, NC on June 19, 1937 son of the late Joel and Rossie Price Benton. Mr. Benton was a retired employee of Yale Security. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jayhue and Grady Benton and sister, Nelta Yow. Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Carolyn Mullis Benton, sons, Terry Benton and wife Greta and Jerry Benton and wife Tammy, daughter Amy Alexander and husband Gene, all of Monroe, brothers, Eddie Benton of Mint Hill, sister, Barbara Whitley of Concord, grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Alexander, Andrew and Cory Benton, Tara St.Clair, Ashley Braswell, Megan and Christina Alexander, and one great granddaughter, Melanie Braswell. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
