Amos Blair Horne, 76, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was born December 8, 1939, in Union County, NC to the late Amos Benjamin and Lula Mae Mangum Horne. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Horne retired from Charlotte Pipe and was a Shriner . He was a loving husband, devoted father, most dedicated grandfather, and loyal friend. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey Gaddy Horne; daughter, Cheryl H. Rabun, granddaughter, Miranda Rabun, and great-granddaughter to be born in January; daughter, Chandra H. Hill, granddaughters, Jaynie Williams, all of Monroe, and Mary-Kate Kinsey Hill of Monroe, and fiancé Hunter D. Horton of Pageland; and special friend, Billy Plyler of Monroe; two sisters Ona Ruth Smith of Marshville, Lillie Mae Gordon, husband David, of Mt. Croghan, SC, and several nieces nephews. The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening, September 20, 2016, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
