Andrew Charles “Chuck” Lindblom, II Beloved husband, father, and brother, Andrew Charles “Chuck” Lindblom II, 74, passed away in his sleep on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Lake Park Rehabilitation Center after a long battle against wound infections. He was born April 26, 1942 son to the late Andrew Charles Mary Louise Buirgy Lindblom. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, with a reception to follow. Chuck is survived by his wife of 35 years, Penny Lindblom. He also leaves behind two brothers and sisters-n-law, Victor and Mary Lindblom, and Frank and Melanie Lindblom, as well as four children and their spouses; a son, Paul and Christy Russo, and three daughters, Paige and Jay Harward, Jennifer and Jason Hays, and Tina Smith. He has ten grandchildren, Polo Russo, Melanie Russo, Kaylee Russo, Frank Bellini, Rose Bellini, Garrett Harward, Lillian Hays, Julianna Hays, Cameron Smith, and Addyson Smith. Chuck’s close family also includes fourteen nieces, nephews and their spouses and twenty five grand-nieces and -nephews. Preceding Chuck in death are his parents, Andrew Charles Lindblom and Mary Louise Buirgy Lindblom. Born in Denver, Colorado on April 26th, 1942, Chuck was a graduate of Big Rapids High School in Big Rapids, Michigan; class of 1960. He went on to earn his Bachelors of Science in Architecture at the University of Michigan. Married to Penelope Ohmann Russo on April 18, 1981 in St. Joseph, Michigan, they enjoyed 35 beautiful years together, had wonderful adventures, and shared the deepest of loves. He provided commercial architectural services to Carolina Truss, Little Associates, and Paragon Engineering; in addition to other firms in Michigan, North Carolina, and Virginia during his working career. But always, he was an artist, writer, actor, poet, gardener, traveler, intellectual, and deeply faithful man. He inspired us, encouraged us, and cared for us with great joy. We mourn this great loss with eyes toward the future, knowing he is still with us in spirit. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, 302 E. Windsor St. Monroe NC 28112.
