Andrew Gore Williams

Andrew (Andy) Gore Williams - 53 of Marshville, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 9:17 am. Andy was born in Mecklenburg County on October 29, 1969 to Charles Gore Williams and Elizabeth Ann (Lib) Nash Austin.

Andy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tracy Batson Williams, son, William Matthew Harris, grandchildren, Mikayla Harris, Kenzley Harris, Peyton Harris and Andrew Harris, mother, Elizabeth (Lib) Ann Nash Austin, father, Charles Gore Williams and wife Cheryl, brother, Rodney (Beth) Williams, niece, Claire (Jacob) Purser and nephews Ryan and Mikey Williams.

Andy served on the Union County Parks & Recreation committee for many years. His goal as a paraplegic was to make sure that every child had the opportunity to play on the playground whether they were physically or mentally challenged. He also served on the Union County Planning Board to make sure that the citizens got the best choices for the future.

Even though Andy was confined to a wheelchair, he made every effort to continue life to the fullest. He loved farming and talking to neighbors and friends and would always make himself available to help with whatever challenges life had to offer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Funeral Services - 1904 Lancaster Hwy, Monroe, NC. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be at Calvary Baptist Church - 2518 Lancaster Hwy, Monroe, NC on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank all their neighbors and friends for their love and willingness to help during this time and, also Hospice for their outstanding services and care for our loved one.
