Angela Helms Henderson, 86, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born June 9, 1937, in Union County, NC, daughter of the late Lloyd Winford Helms and Ruth O’Kelly Helms. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ira Michael Helms and Winford Steven Helms and her children, Joseph Leary Newton, Teresa Stephens and Donald Newton and her grandchild, Jamie Keith Stephens.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC, followed by a burial in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Ms. Henderson is survived by her daughter, Tammy Wilkinson McCoy of Monroe; grandchildren, Craig Newton of Monroe, Nicky Garcia of Havelock, Chris Newton (Angie) of Waxhaw, Zach Sutton of Monroe, and Weston Sutton (Michaela) of Pageland; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gordon Funeral Service. At other times, the family will receive friends at Angela’s home.
