Ann Kathleen Baucom

Ann Smith Baucom, 85 of Monroe, NC graduated to a higher plane of life on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at McWhorter Hospice House. She was born November 11, 1935, daughter to the late Roy Curtis Smith Sr. and Ethel Hinde Smith. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband Billy Ralph Baucom, whom she married on September 3, 1955. Ann was a homemaker and faithful to her church, Ebenezer Baptist Church. The family appreciates the visits and outpouring of love from Ken and Peggy Tyson from her church family. Our mom was a Christian and lived her life as an example of motherly love and concern. She is survived by her sister, Olivia Hodges of Charlotte, brother, Curtis Smith, Jr. of Monroe. Her marriage produced four children which she leaves behind to cherish her memory. Gene Baucom (Shirley) of Monroe her care takers, Don Baucom (Alex) of Raleigh, Angelia Stewart (Greg) of Marshville, NC and David Baucom (Kim) of Monroe, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Travis Baucom (Nicole) of Georgia, Andrea Linthicum (Chris) of Monroe, Heath and Jessica Stewart of Marshville, Cody Baucom of Fayetteville and Heath Cranford (Lisa) of Monroe. Ann was very proud of her two great grandchildren, Piper and Paisley Linthicum, they were the apples of her eye. Due to health concerns from the pandemic, a memorial service to celebrate her life will be private. We ask that any memorials be directed to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110 or to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1417 Unionville Indian Trail Rd. West, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
