Ann Underwood Pierce WINGATE - Ann Underwood Pierce, 76, passed away, Wednesday, October 2, 2013. She was born in Anson County, NC on July 15, 1937 daughter of the late Grady and Polly Caudle Underwood. Mrs. Pierce was a retired employee of the Union County School system. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Wingate Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Wingate Cemetery. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband, James Delmer Pierce. She is survived by sons, Gary Pierce (Dawn), Wilson Pierce (Alisa), of Wingate, Rodney Pierce (Amy) of Marshville, daughter, Dawn Harshbarger (Nick) of Mooresville, brother, Ronald Underwood (Elaine) of Sherrills Ford, sister, Nancy Blalock (Jim) of Boiling Springs, and grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Austin, Caroline and Eli. The family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
