Annie “Ann” Pressley Tarlton, 89, of Monroe, NC passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on December 9, 1936, daughter to the late Ray Eugene Pressley and Minnie Guion Pressley. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Tarlton, siblings, Don Pressley, Max Pressley, Eddie Pressley, Ruth Faulkenbury, daughter-in-law, Lynne Tarlton, great-grandson, Andrew Kiker.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 2509 Mountain Springs Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28112, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Ann is survived by her three children, Jerry Tarlton (Debbie), Karen Kiker (Randy), Michelle Hannon, seven grandchildren, Brandy Hudgins (Shane), Mandy Buchanan, Candy Benson (Scott), Amanda Langston, Randy Kiker, Jr. (Victoria), Tyler Griffin (Carley), Ashley Hannon (Mason), twelve great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Charlie, Peyton, Logan, Abigail, Sydney, Allison, Joseph, Benjamin, Addallee, Samuel, Annabeth, great-great grandchild, Rowan, sisters-in-law, Lanelle Richardson, Joan Tarlton, Edith Pressley.

Ann was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church. She retired from Vanguard Supreme after many years of dedicated service.

She loved gardening, especially growing sweet potatoes, and cherished camping trips spent with family and friends. One of her greatest adventures was riding motorcycles alongside the love of her life.

To her children and grandchildren, Ann will always be remembered for her delicious homemade fried apple pies, made with love.

Above all, Ann loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved going out to Quincy’s and Macs to eat.

Known for her independent spirit, Ann was never one to shy away from hard work. She took pride in caring for her home and was still mowing her own yard up until 3 years ago. When she was unable to care for her yard, she enjoyed watching her great grandsons take care of it.
