Annie (Mullis) Simpson

Annie Mullis Simpson, 91, died Monday, July 28, 2008. She was born in Union County on July 29, 1916, daughter of the late Oscar Cornelius and Armetta James Mullis. Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, James Roland Simpson and a son, James Robert Simpson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Simpson is survived by her sons, Troy W. Simpson and Steven R. Simpson, both of Monroe; daughters Shirley Simpson of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Dean S. Reid and Lovene S. Greene, both of Monroe, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the funeral from 9:30 until 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 Memorials may be made to Watson Primitive Baptist Church, Building Fund, c/o Mrs. Frances Williams, 3502 New Salem Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
