Anthony Lane Edwards

Anthony “Lane” Edwards, 54, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born December 21, 1966 in Union County, son of Charles Franklin Edwards and the late Patricia Tarlton Edwards. Lane was a custom home builder for over 20 years. He coached many kids through Porter Ridge Athletic Association. He was an avid Tarheel fan and animal lover. He loved 80’s music and movies. He was of the Baptist faith, but most importantly, he loved his family and friends. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shelley Crenshaw Edwards of Indian Trail; sons, Hunter L. Edwards and wife Kailey of Huntersville and Connor Edwards of Indian Trail; and his brother, Jeff Edwards and wife Dawn of Polkton, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Tarlton Edwards. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends and relatives following the service. The Edwards family sends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center for the wonderful care he received. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family asks that everyone wear a mask at the service.
