Aster Wayne Sizemore

Mr. Aster Wayne Sizemore, 71, of Monroe, NC passed away December 26, 2019. He was born in Mecklenburg County on November 15, 1948 a son to Alma Cato Sizemore and the late Dillard George Sizemore. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, December 30, 2019 at Love Baptist Church, 707 Deese Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00pm until 1:45pm at the church. Wayne was a dedicated father, loving husband and always willing to help anyone, he was a humble man and a great peacekeeper. He was a member of Love Baptist Church. Wayne served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the New Salem American Legion Post 440 and the Antique Tractor Club and loved to work on his antique tractors. He met the love of his life, Brenda Richardson and after only dating two weeks they were married. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Brenda Richardson Sizemore, two sons; Stacey Wayne Sizemore (Paula) of Lexington, and Jerry Lynn Sizemore of Charlotte, daughter Sharon Sizemore York (Randall) of Monroe, three brothers; Allen Sizemore (Terry), Euless Sizemore, Ray Sizemore (Tracy) all of Monroe, sister Elaine Sizemore Hinson (Chris) of Marshville, five grandchildren; Brooke and Logan York, Brittany Sizemore, Marty Cavahaugh , and Kenny Bowers, as well as several nieces and nephews.
