Atha Lowery Hinson, 81, of Monroe, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was born in Union County, NC on July 23, 1944, daughter to the late Albert Lowery and Atha Starnes Lowery. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Lowery, nephew, Kenneth Hinson, and niece Jackie Purgason.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7002 Pleasant Hill Church Rd, Marshville, NC 28103, with burial to follow at New Hope Baptist Church, 5928 New Salem Rd, Marshville, NC 28103. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Atha is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Laurin Kenneth Hinson, six nephews, Eric Hinson (Davanna), Bennett Hinson (Cindy), Bryon Hinson (Karen), Ronald Hinson, Alan Hinson, Roy Lowery, and two nieces, Margarett Patterson (Randy) and Suzy Lowery.
