Audrey Jane Horne

Audrey Jane Gaddy Horne, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted wife, age 78, born to the late Willard Gaddy and Willa Pigg, passed away peacefully in Monroe North Carolina, surrounded by her family on January 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, January 7, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2528 Stack Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. She is preceded in death by her husband; Amos Blair Horne, sister; Carolyn Helms, and granddaughter; Jaynie Lauren Williams. Audrey is survived by her daughters; Cheryl H. Rabun of Monroe, NC, Chandra H. Hill and fiancé Billy J. Plyer both of Monroe, NC, brother; Dwight Gaddy and wife Pat of Monroe, NC, granddaughters; Miranda Blair Rabun of Monroe, NC, and Kinsey Hill of Monroe, NC, adored and light of her life great granddaughter; Aviana Blair Taylor, special sister-in-law’s; Lillie Mae Gordon of Monroe, NC, and Ruth Smith of Monroe, NC, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. As a young child, Audrey began a passion for singing and playing guitar with her mother at Lanes Creek Baptist Church in Marshville, and with the “Hildreth Clan.” Her passion for music continued through life as she served as the choir director at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Monroe Hardware Wholesale after many years of service. After retirement she enjoyed cooking for her family and baking goods to share with others. Audrey also enjoyed her weekly lunch dates with her high school classmates and friends. Among many things, Audrey was a loving friend to many and always encouraged others. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe NC 28112. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt.
