Barbara Ann (Baucom) Braswell

Barbara Ann Braswell, 77 of Monroe, passed on to her eternal heavenly home to be with our gracious Lord Savior on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Pruitt Health Center in Monroe Mrs. Braswell was born July 20, 1940 in Union County, NC daughter to the late Boyce Gertrude Baucom. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Baucom and Audran “Dick” Baucom, and her sister Cecil Baucom. A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Pastor George Hunnicutt officiating. The family will visit with friends and family prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service in Lakeland Memorial Park. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and was an active member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where she served on the Baptist Women’s Committee. She was employed by Acme Nameplate, Inc for 35 years until her retirement. Barbara was beautiful both inside and out and will be remembered as an extremely loving, kind, devoted and caring soul who was always thinking of and doing for others ahead of herself. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, flower gardening, and enjoying nature. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, David Elton Braswell; son Gregory Braswell, and wife Judy of Monroe; daughters Monica Howard - Terry Blythe of Wingate, and Michelle Braswell and fiancé David Carver of Indian Trail; three granddaughters, Nina Linnehan, and husband Jim, Nicole Price, and husband Brent, and Carmen Rape, and husband Cody, three grandsons, Reiner Howard, Hunter Howard, and Lucas Braswell; six great grandchildren, three sisters, Betty James, of Monroe, Rachel Secrest, and husband Ivan, of Monroe, and Frances Ramsey of Monroe; two brothers Dolan Baucom and wife Lucille, of Monroe, and Richard Baucom and wife Joanne, of Oakboro; and many nieces and nephews.
