Barbara Carolyn Collins

Barbara Carnes Collins, 80, of Monroe, NC closed her eyes for the last time on this earth on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving and devoted husband and children she sacrificed so much for. She was born in Lancaster, SC on October 26, 1942, daughter of the late Reverend Randolph Carnes and Jesse Rollings Carnes.

Barbara graduated from Fort Mill High School and spent many years raising her family and working to help support them. She spent many years working for La Belle Manufacturing as a bookkeeper, and at her home keeping books for many builders and filling out taxes for countless people. She finished her career working for Noel Williams Masonry as the office manager, where she made many friends. Barbara also served her church family no matter where she attended, serving as a musician and in various roles until her health prevented.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of 55 years; five children, Jerry Clontz (Olivia), Randy Clontz (Sabrina), Lance Clontz (Amanda), Dawn Tice (Chris) and Greg Collins (Alice) all of Monroe and Pageland area; a brother, David Carnes (Mary-Ben) of Polkton; a sister, Brenda Carnes Sanders of Gastonia; grandchildren, Daniel Ridings, Jesse Clontz, Jacob Clontz, Marissa Clontz, Tabitha Eason, Olivia Lawhon, Collin Tice, Addison Tice, Laney Collins and Emma Collins and seven great-grandchildren all that were loved and adored by their grandmother.
