Barbara Byrum Griffin, 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was born in Union County on March 18, 1940, daughter of the late Eli and Etta Belk Byrum. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Simpson and Sidney Griffin, step-son, Greg Griffin, brother, Walter Byrum, four sisters, Mildred Rowell, Christine Horne, Eula Mae Williams, and Ruby Williams, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112 Mrs. Griffin is survived by three sons, Gregory Simpson of Gastonia, Thomas Simpson of Waxhaw, and Danny Simpson of Dayton, Ohio, daughter, Terri G.
