Barbara Brooks Helms, 87, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014. She was born February 13, 1927 in Johnson City, TN, daughter of the late John Wesley and Veannie Troutman Crowder. She also preceded in death by first husband Lamar Brooks, and second husband Stokes Helms, a son James Brooks, and a grandson Dustin Brooks Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2014, Unionville Baptist Church 510 Baucom Rd. Monroe NC, 28110. The family will visit prior to the service starting at 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM. Burial will follow service in Bentons CrossRoads Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Helms is survived by a daughter Nancy Levy of Norwalk OH, a brother Frank Crowder of Grey, TN, two grandchildren Jonathan Brooks and Heather Thomas.
