Barbara M. Hollis

Dateline: Monroe, NC Barbara M. Hollis, 67, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012. She was born on August 27, 1945 daughter of the late John Edward and May Dyal McKinley. Mrs. Hollis was a graduate of Florida Southern College and received her masters of social work from UNC-Chapel Hill. She was Coordinator for Child Protective Services with Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services until her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Fred Hollis, daughters, Christine Tran of Charlotte and Sharon Harris of Hickory, brothers, Marvin McKinley of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Edward McKinley of Milton, Florida, and sister, Mary Stephens of Montgomery, Alabama. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
