Barbara Ann Murray

November 17, 1934 — May 21, 2022

Barbara Ann Horrell Murray, 87, of Monroe went into the arms of our loving Father and to her beloved husband the late Jerry Thomas Murray on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
She was born on November 17, 1934 in Pender County to Herman and Annie Dell Horrell. The oldest of six children. She married Jerry T. Murray in 1952 and enjoyed a loving marriage of 62 years. They had four children. Debra, Kevin Dean, Lisa and Brian.

Barbara was a home maker and loving mother thoroughly enjoying that role. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church and the Christian Woman’s Club. She was also a member of the Monroe Garden Club. Her passion was decorating. She loved making floral arrangements; volunteering her talents for various events over the years in our community. She absolutely loved it!

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Debra Cathey and Lisa Roldan; and her sons Kevin Murray and Brian Murray. Their wives, Martha Roldan Murray and Alisa Evans-Murray. Eight Grandchildren, Mandy McLendon, Tracy Horton, Samantha Wade, Jennifer Winn, Matthew Roldan, Thomas Murray, Victoria Ann Murray-Smith, and James Edward Murray. And eight great grandchildren; Chancellor McLendon, Sadie McLendon, Grey Kim, Lillian McLendon, Aiden Roldan, Jonathan Clark, Camden Roldan and Styles Winn and River Horton’s on the way! :) She also has sister’s Sylvia Ketch, Rose Murray and brother Donnie Horrell. She was preceded in death by baby sister Emily Skinner and Kenny Horrell.

The Memorial Service will be held at Central United Methodist Church at the Chapel in the Round on Thursday May 26, 2022 at 2:00pm. The family will receive family and friends in Central Hall after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110
