Barbara Staton Scism, 81, of Indian Trail, NC passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born in Anson County, NC on June 15, 1943 daughter to the late Claude Staton and Glennie Hamilton Staton. She is also preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, James Franklin “Frank” Scism, brother, Bob Staton and sister, Bronnie Wright.

A memorial service will be held to honor both Frank and Barbara on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Gordon Funeral Chapel, with inurnment to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sonia Terry (Chris), two brothers, Gene Staton (Patricia), and Lynn Staton (Doris), as well as her grand-dogs, Daisy, Teddi, and Lucy.
