Barry Hugh Rowell, 52, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born in Wayne County, NC September 19, 1962. He is preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna Jo Helms Rowell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Corinth Baptist Church, 3805 Corinth Church Road, Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Barry was a graduate of Parkwood High School, a member at Corinth Baptist Church, and worked as a Sgt. with NC Wildlife Resource Commission for over 19 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved the great outdoors; and enjoyed dirt track racing. He survived by his parents, John Leonard and Hilda Estelle McCorkle Rowell, daughter, Hollie Rowell Chaney and husband Manley, a brother, J.R. Rowell, two sisters, Charlotte Workman husband Neal, and Cynthia Laney husband Curtis, mother-in-law, Nancy Helms, and his beloved granddaughter, Izabelle Chaney that is cherished. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112.
