Beatrice “Bea” Bliss Brantley, 89, of Monroe, passed away on September 25, 2021. Bea was born in Union County on December 12, 1931 to the late Albert and Martha Bliss. Bea was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was an excellent cook and could prepare a delicious meal with little effort, especially her homemade biscuits. Bea was a longtime member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and participating in many other church activities. In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Clayton Brantley; her great-grandson, Dalton Hunter; three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Foster and husband Mike; grandson Dustin Hunter and wife Trevia: and great-grandchildren, Ryley and Caleb Hunter. She is also survived by sister-in-law Nancy Brantley and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:45 Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112, followed by a graveside service at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
