Beda Lou Efird Trenning-Helms, 92, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1934, daughter to the late Oscar Lee Efird and Malinda Tarleton Efird. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Eugene Trenning, husband, Robert Claymon Helms, sister, Dorothy Rose Efird Moore, and brother, Jimmy Lee Efird.

Beda was a lifelong Christian and faithful church member. She was a talented artist, a master gardener, and a world traveler with an adventurous spirit. She was a loyal and dutiful friend to many.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service. Beda will be laid to rest privately by her family at Carolina Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Locust, NC.

Beda is survived by her son, Jeffrey Paul Trenning (Lynn), daughter, Anne Elizabeth Trenning, stepdaughter, Melinda Luanne Helms and her four grandchildren, Emily Grace Trenning, Joseph Paul Trenning, Benjamin McBrayer Sasser, and Claire Elizabeth Sasser.
