Ben Douglas Plyler, 80, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019. He was born January 24, 1939 son to the late Lawrence “Big Jim” and Edith Mangum Plyler, he is also preceded in death by his wife Gale Griffin Plyler and brother, Fred Plyler. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Prospect United Methodist Church, 6020 Prospect Road, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 1:45pm in the church fellowship hall. Mr. Plyler is survived by his two sons; Cameron Plyler & Amon Plyler (Eilene), two brothers; David Plyler and Ron Plyler, three sisters; Diane Griffith, Barbara O’Donohue and Mary Mosley, grandchild, Tanya Broach.
