Benjamin (Ben) F. Campbell, 85, passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2019, in Monroe, NC. He was born March 8, 1934 in Dillon, SC, son of the late John Wright Campbell and Kathleen Shooter Campbell. Ben is also preceded in death by his son John, daughter Jennifer and brother Ed. Ben was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and Pa. He loved his family, friends and community. He attended Clemson University, and after college, he served in the US Army. Ben moved to Monroe and made it his home in the early 1960’s, where he started a successful general contracting business and raised his family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gloria Campbell; children Vikki Hunley, Miles Campbell, Victor Burnette and Kristen Hobbs, their partner/spouses and families including 6 grandchildren and a great grandson. He is also survived by his sister Helen, 4 nieces and their families. The family is appreciative of the many friendships and acts of kindness shared throughout his life and time of illness and will celebrate of his life privately. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clemson University, Construction Science & Management.
