Bennett Cleveland Baucom

Bennett Cleveland Baucom, 77, of Monroe, NC passed away Saturday, August 03, 2019. Bennett was born in Union County on February 16, 1942 to the late Charlie and Ora Rushing Baucom. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; Thurlow Baucom, Jimmy Baucom and Kenneth Baucom, a sister Letha Baucom Greene. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Hope Second Advent Christian Church, 6804 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Additional parking will be available at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 5417 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110, with transportation to Hope Second Advent Christian Church. Bennett was an honored pillar to his community, a devoted Christian and husband, a very proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He would bring a smile with his encouraging words to everyone he met. He touched many lives with his humble kindness, and always made others feel special, loved and cared for. He was a farmer, he and his brother Kenneth owned and operated Baucom Brothers Farm and Milling, for over 25 years. He was a Charter Member and staple to Hope Second Advent Christian Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher, and served as the Choir Director for over 44 years. Bennett is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years Reba Rollins Baucom, three sons; Clancy Baucom (Kim), Darren Baucom (Celeste), Charlie Baucom (Brittany) and two daughters; Donna Baucom Miller and Rebecca Baucom Riffle (Wes), brother Dennis Baucom (Barbara), and sister Joy Ruth Baucom (Burton), thirteen grandchildren; Kenneth Baucom (Brittany), Chelsea Baucom, Sawyer Baucom, Kendra Baucom, Camden Baucom, Callie Baucom, Chet Miller, Carmen Baucom, Ben Riffle, Marley Riffle, Blakely Baucom, Gates Baucom, Dawson Baucom and Isaac Baucom, and a great-grandchild Madelyn Hamrick. The family will receive friends Monday, August 5, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
