Benny “George” Love, 93, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC, on July 26, 1933, son to the late James Duncan Love and Loretta Hinson Love. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers and three sisters.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 7918 Crooked Creek Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 1:30PM until 2:45PM in the church sanctuary.

George is survived by his loving wife, Polly Benton Love, two sons, Todd Love (Melanie) and Denning Love (Sherry), daughter, Melody Griffin (Alan), six grandchildren, Dillon Love (Aki), Lindsey Shoultes (Chad), Chad Tyson, Dane Love (Meggan), Collin Love, Bryce Love, and six great-grandchildren, Amos Shoultes, Grey Shoultes, Joyce Love, Faith Love, Zori Love, and Delaney Love.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd. Monroe, NC 28110.
