Benny Sylvester Martin

Benny Sylvester Martin, 81, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022. He was born on October 8, 1940, son of the late Ernest Alonzo and Mary Putnam Martin, in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He is also preceded in death by his brother Donald Martin and sister Mary Allen.

Benny was a man of the Baptist faith. He was the owner of Martron Incorporated since 1986; he loved all of his customers and considered them all his friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his car collection dearly. He loved watching his grandchildren play and compete in sports. He was a friend to many; he never met a stranger. Most importantly, he loved his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Benny is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Louise Lambert Martin, son Tim Martin of Matthews, daughter Chandra Martin Andujar (Anthony) of Matthews, five grandchildren Christopher Martin (Ashley), Luke Andujar, Ethan Andujar, Salem Andujar, and Davis Andujar, and one great-grandchild Isla Louise Martin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.
