Bernard Franklin Dean

Bernard Franklin Dean, 77 of Waxhaw, NC, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was born in Braxton County, WV on May 16, 1943. He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Zelma Mingo. Dean was a US Army Veteran and a retired truck driver. Although retired, he had a passion for hard work and continued to spend most of his time on various projects outside or in the garage. Dean is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Kathryn Miller Dean; three children, Brent Dean (Tracie Jacobs) of Waxhaw, NC, Amy Wilson (William) of Indian Trail, NC, James Dean (Debbie) of Waxhaw, NC; four grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, Caylee and Sarah and a sister June Burzanko of Burton, OH. There will be a private memorial service held to honor Dean’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department, 8323 Lancaster Hwy, Waxhaw, NC 28173 or the charity of the donors choice.
