Bernice C. Rainey

Monroe, NC Bernice C. Rainey, goes home to be with her Saviour and Lord on September 13, 2010 at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Daniel Izzard and Anna Crisp Izzard of Pickford, Michigan. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM at New Testament Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Tony Owens. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 1:45 Friday, prior to the service. Mrs. Rainey was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James E. Rainey, who died February 21, 1997, sisters, Alice Gray and Mildred Orshell, twin sister, Beatrice Susan and a brother Wayne Izzard. She is survived by sons, James O. Rainey and Carl A. Rainey, both of Monroe, sister, Dorothy Skinner of Pickford, Michigan, grandchildren, Ava, J.J., Shan, Dustin, Chrystal, Ashley, and Carl Junior. Rev. Rainey pastored at the New Testament Baptist church of Monroe for 16 years. Mr. Mrs. Rainey were foster parents of twenty two children while living in Plattsburgh, NY and Monroe, NC. Pastor Rainey started the daycare of the church. He knew how much his Saviour loved people. All his workers had part in this work and for this he thanks each of you.
