Betty Juanita Belk

Betty Juanita Gaddy Belk, 89, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019. She was born January 10, 1930 daughter of the late Lacy A. & Daisy Griffin Gaddy. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Belk, Jr., son Jerry Belk, three brothers, and four sisters. A private graveside service will be held at Prospect United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Curtis officiating. Betty worked as a secretary for many years at Barth & Dreyfus of Monroe. She was an active member of United Methodist Women at Prospect United Methodist Church. Mrs. Belk is survived by her son, Timothy Dale Belk, wife Anita, her daughter, Shelia Belk Medlin, husband Ronnie, two grandsons; Michael Medlin, wife Lydia, and Clay Medlin, wife Erika, three great grandchildren; Cora, Kena, and Luke Medlin, two sister-in-law’s, Shirley B. Starnes, husband Davis, and Betty Belk, husband Jim, and numerous nieces & nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Brenda Haston who was always there and cared greatly. Latesha Taylor whom Mrs. Belk considered her own, and especially the wonderful, loving staff of Jesse Helms Nursing Home who she loved and considered her family, and Hospice.
