Betty Helms Bivens, 84, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born in Union County, NC on February 14, 1930 daughter of the late Roy C. and Odessa Craig Helms. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 11:00. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Bivens was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Bivens on January 31, 2014. She is survived by a son, Charles F. Bivens, Jr., and wife Nicki of Indian Trail, daughters, Jean Thomas and husband Dolan of Monroe, Wanda Arant and husband Wayne of Marshville, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
