Betty Hunsucker Erickson, 95, passed way Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born February 26, 1926 in Catawba County, NC daughter to the late Lonnie Cicero & Bessie Holler Hunsucker. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Irvin B. Erickson, Sr. and a son Irvin B. Erickson, Jr., two brothers: George Hunsucker and Howard Hunsucker, five sisters: Ruby Kincaid, Doloris Earley, Faye Yaude. Lorene Dresser, and Becky Hill. Betty graduated as salutatorian of her high school class, and then attended Lees-McRae College where she received a degree as a Record Librarian and work as a Medical Secretary/Record Librarian for many years. Her pastimes included gardening, and tending to flowers in which she loved and brought her so much happiness. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church for over 70 years, and loved to serve others and was willing to help those in need in any way. She was a kind, gracious, and faithful servant to her family, church, and community. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 909 Circle Dr., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Betty is survived by a daughter Tina Stegall (Tom) two sons: David Erickson (Martha), and Mark Erickson (Teri), daughter-in-law Betty Erickson, eight grandchildren: Jeff Erickson, Jeremy Erickson, Brian Erickson, Melissa Erickson Ivey, Olaf Erickson, Kelen Erickson Barrett, Adam Stegall, and Matthew Stegall, and twelve great grandchildren.
