Betty Delores Fugate, 76, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at her home in Indian Trail, NC. Born Oct 11, 1944, she was a lifelong resident of Union County and daughter of the late William and Georgia Yow Laney. Betty was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald Fugate; three brothers, George Laney, Jimmy Aycoth and Zander Aycoth. Betty was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail NC and a former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed selling Avon and working in her garden. Betty loved traveling and taking trips to the beach with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Jeffery Fugate, wife Rebecca, York SC and William Fugate, wife Rebecca Monroe, NC; one sister, Christine Rodriguez, Monroe, NC and eight grandchildren. There will be a graveside service Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn, East 3700 Forest Lawn Dr Matthews, NC 28104. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe NC 28110.
