Betty Rushing Goins, 78, of Monroe, NC went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 13, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on May 12, 1948, daughter to the late JC Rushing, and Eunice Little Rushing. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Cooper, as well as three sisters, Edith Harrington, Mildred Broadway, and Barbara Rollins, four brothers, Junior Rushing, Lowell Rushing, Ronald Rushing, and Norris Rushing.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Michael Goins, son, Jeff Starling, daughter, Angie Hill (Kyle), two brothers, Eddie Rushing, and Barry Rushing, three sisters, Lucille Burris, Linda Whitmore, and Donna Price, seven grandchildren, EJ Isaman, Courtney Cooper, Mackenzie Cooper, Tyler Starling, Triston Starling, Colton Pressley, and Trenton Starling, as well as six great-grandchildren, Easton, Anderson, Carlee, Carter, Brantley, and August.

Betty lived a full and beautiful life, rooted in her faith and filled with love for her family. She gave so much of herself to those she loved, always willing to serve, encourage, comfort, and help whenever she was needed. Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and they were blessed beyond words to have her as their wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She taught through her life what it means to love others, to put family first, and to trust in the Lord through every season

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2613 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110 with burial to follow in Lucy Helms Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Atrium Health Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
