Betty Lois Boling Sossamon, 92, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Monroe, NC. She was born on October 7, 1933, daughter to the late Thomas Michael Boling and Beulah Lillian Whitfield Boling. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilbert H. Sossamon, Sr., two sons, Eric Wayne Sossamon, Baby Boy Sossamon, daughter, Melissa Ann Sossamon, brothers, Bobby Gordon Boling, Thomas Boling, Allen Boling, Hugh Boling, James Boling, Gary Kendall Boling, two sisters, Louise Napier, Beulah Haigler, and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at 3:45 PM following the service at Mt. Pleasant Pentecostal Church Cemetery, 2660 Mt Pleasant Rd S, Mt Pleasant, NC 28124. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Betty is survived by her three sons, Gilbert H. Sossamon, Jr., Kenneth Dale Sossamon, Carl Michael Sossamon (Carol Henig), three daughters, Lois Fay Smith, Joyce Marie Tyson, Brenda Joyce Bigham (Daniel), brother, David Elias Boling, 15 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
