Betty Griffin Carter, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016. She was born in Union County, NC daughter of the late Joe L. and Miranda Stuart Griffin. Mrs. Carter was a longtime member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church in Waxhaw and was an active member of the Jackson/Waxhaw community as long as she lived there. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 29, 2016 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Mrs. Carter is survived by son, James L. Skipper and wife Barbara, step-daughter, Bonnie Hundley, grandchildren, Freddy Skipper, Larry Skipper and Ann Hasty, great grandchildren, Heather Skipper, Emily Sharpiro, Haley Cobb, Smantha Howie and Seth Sutton, great great grandchild, Mason Cobb.
