Betty Lou (Hamilton) Parker

Betty Lou Hamilton Parker, 80, went to meet Jesus on Thursday, October 19, 2017. She was born in Union County on January 14, 1937, daughter of the late James Lee and Virgie Thomas Hamilton. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, William Earl Parker, four brothers; Boyce, Harold, Keith, and Edward Hamilton, sister; Ginnie Griffin. Betty was thought of as the epitome of a southern Christian lady. She loved serving the Lord, her family, and church. Her favorite activities were cooking for others, shopping, singing in the choir and caring for children. She will be missed dearly and will forever be in our hearts. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Faulks Baptist Church, 2234 Faulks Church Rd. Marshville NC 28103 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112. Mrs. Parker is survived by her son, Tim Parker, wife Diane of Wilmington, daughter, Denise Fuente, husband Roger of Wingate, brother, James Hamilton, wife Wanda of Marshville, four grandchildren; Melanie Lockhart, Melissa Barr, Travis Parker, and Brandon Parker, four great-grandchildren; Katyln Barr, Jacob Lockhart, Finley Parker, and Georgia Ann Parker.
