Betty Joann (Price) Snypes

Joann Price Snypes, 82, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Carillon Memory Care at Indian Trail N. C. She was born on February 24, 1936 in Union County, N. C. daughter to the late Loyd Thurman Price and Betty Lee Simpson Price. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vance Snypes, a son, Mark Alan Hartis, her first husband, Rev. Oscar Lee Hartis, Jr., two sisters, Carol Pressley (Phillip), Bobbie Hamilton (Lane), and one brother, Norris Price (Rebecca). Funeral services will be held 1:00PM, Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, N. C. 28112, with burial to follow in Price Family Cemetery. She was a retired employee of the State of North Carolina. Her life was dedicated to her family and home. Surviving Mrs. Snypes are her daughter, Marilyn Hartis Hatcher-Franquiz, three sons, Gary Hartis (Brenda), Randy Hartis (Carol), Craig Hartis (Joni), step-daughter Elaine Snypes, step-son, Alan Snypes, (Wendy), grandchildren, Asheley Hartis Underwood (Scott), Laura Hatcher Burdett (Steve), Brett Hartis (Tara), Adam Hartis (Hailey), Lindsey Hartis Edwards (Ben), Taylor Hartis, two step-grandchildren, Ashley Snypes, and Courtney Snypes Moore (Cody). great-grandchildren, David Burdett, Trait Hartis and one step-great grandchild, Collins. two sisters, Brenda Little (Edd), Wanda Thomas (Jimmy), and three brothers, Lamar Price (Irene), Marnie Price (Rachel) and Ted Price (Judy), along with many nieces and nephews.
