Betty McGinnis Starnes, 90, of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on January 10, 1936, daughter to the late Claude McGinnis and Beulah Coan McGinnis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph O’Neil Starnes.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 5300 Nesbit Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30PM until 2:45PM in the Family Life Center.

Betty is survived by her three sons, Ralph Nolan Starnes (Edwina), Nathan Starnes (Angie), Todd Starnes (Kim), five grandchildren, Dillon Durham (Ali), Taylor Starnes, Parker Starnes (Meghan), Carson Starnes, Chandler Starnes, and two great-grandchildren, Collyns Durham and Bode Durham.
