Betty Sander Stone Tallardy, 79, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was born in Roslyn, NY on February 14, 1947, daughter to the late Hermon Sander and Marie Fritz Sander. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Louis Sander, and sister, Mary Lou Sander.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 9800 Fairview Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

Betty is survived by her son, Owen Stone, and best friend of 40 years Maggie Kelly. She had many friends from whom she loved so very much. She had such a vibrant life involved in so many things - horses, hot air balloon pilot, and bike riding. She loved being outside in nature, hiking, watching birds, and growing roses in her yard. She enjoyed attending the Greek Festival annually with her work friends, and also music festivals, Jimmy Buffet, Eagles, Led Zeppelin to name a few.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to a charity of your choice under the name of Betty Sander Stone Tallardy.
