Betty Jean Tangari

Dateline: Mint Hill, NC Betty Jean Tangari, 86, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013. She was the 2nd youngest of 6 siblings, born August 21, 1926 to Frank and Bessie Niven in Waxhaw, NC. Betty was a member of Central Church of God on Sardis Road in Charlotte, NC. Betty met Vincent J. Tangari in Waxhaw while he was on leave from the Army in 1941. They married in 1944 and were blessed with 2 girls, Beverly and Mindy, who they raised in Charlotte and Mint Hill, N. C. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:00 in the Mausoleum at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Vincent Tangari, daughter, Beverly Hastings, sisters, Vivian Crane, Evelyn Gordon, Joye Sadoti and brother, Bud Niven. She is survived by her sister, Emily Niven of Mint Hill, NC, daughter, Mindy Stover and granddaughter Micki of Weddington, NC, grandson, Scott Hastings, his wife Stacey and granddaughter Lily of Davidson, NC, grandson, Matthew Hastings, his wife Meg and grandsons, Nathan and Clayton of Huntersville, NC. Betty will be remembered for her amazing positive attitude and kind spirit even during tumultuous and trying times.
