Betty Watkins

Betty Mullis Watkins passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 after a long illness. Betty was born on May 26, 1934 in Mecklenburg County, NC, daughter of the late Clarie P. Mullis and Dora Belle Hough Mullis. Betty is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Billy E. Watkins and her son, Edward “Eddie” Watkins. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Lib” Watkins of Charlotte, NC, a sister Peggy M. Hudson of Edgemoor, SC, a grandson Derek Watkins, Sr. (Angela) of Monroe, NC, great-grandsons Derek Watkins, Jr., Bryson Hogsed and Ian Hogsed of Monroe, NC, a great-granddaughter Katey Watkins of Brambleton, VA and nephew Michael Hudson of Edgemoor, SC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:45 pm at Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory @ 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC.
