Dateline: Indian Trail, NC Billy Ray Deese, 56, of Indian Trail, NC passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020. He was born in Union County, NC on April 25,1964 son to Homer Eugene Deese and Lou Ellen Helms Deese. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, August 15,2020 at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 8:45AM until 9:45AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. He served in the ministry as the Associate Pastor of Rocky River Baptist Church, Concord, NC. He was a small engine mechanic and a great carpenter, and had a love of music and fishing. Billy is survived by, in addition to his parents his wife Sheila Corne Deese, son, Michael Deese and wife Jessica of Bessemer City, NC, daughters; Amber Melton (Gerald) of New Salem, NC and Jennifer Deese of Indian Trail, sisters; Alisa Deese of Monroe, NC, and Carrie King (Joseph), of Monroe, NC, seven grandchildren; Seth Mercer,Hunter Mercer, Craven Tarlton, Kelly Tarlton, James Eury, Jacqueline Deese and Gerald Melton III. Mr. Deese was preceded in death by a daughter; Kenda Mercer, and a son Nathaniel Price and a daughter Natalie Price. In lieu of flowers please donate to the “Go Fund Me” account on Facebook.
