Billy Ted Rorie

Dateline: Monroe NC Billy “Ted” Rorie, Sr. 75, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home. Born April 26, 1933 in Union County, NC son of the late Duke and Blanche Stewart Rorie. Ted graduated from Union High School Class of 1951, then joined the United States Marine Corp., where he served from 1952-1954, and retired from Rexham of Pineville, NC in 1995. He is preceded in death by four brothers W.D., Jim, Jack, and Ed Rorie, and one sister Grace Rodgers. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Rorie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Barbara Jean Rorie, three sons Billy Ted Rorie, Jr. of Midland, NC, Duncan Rorie, wife Angie of Lancaster, SC, Wayne Rorie of Charlotte, NC, three daughters Carrie Crook, husband Dwayne of Wingate, NC, Christine Moree, husband Kenneth of Lake City, SC, and Barbara Brown of Buckeye, AZ, eighteen grandchildren Amber, and Carman Crook, Jessica, Christopher, Tony, and Billy Moree, Tristan and Trevor Rorie, Jennifer Peoples, David Campbell, Felicia, Ashley, and Adam Brown, Krystal, Kimberly, Kayce, Kyle, and Kayla Rorie; thirteen great grandchildren Tyler Shane Rorie, Nathaniel, Dylan, Logan, Brianna, and Justin Moree, Jansen, and Janesa Campbell, Jacob, Lauren Peoples, David Campbell, Jr., Deven, and Danielle Campbell, and one sister Doris Long, and husband Garrison of Albemarle.
