Billy Wade Greene

Billy Wade Greene, 82, of Monroe, NC passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. He was born in Union County on June 2, 1940 son to the late Lee Boyd Greene and Maxine Mangum Greene.

He was also preceded in death by his grandson, David Heavner, sisters, Janet Greene, Evelyn Snyder and Mary Lee Baucom.

The body will lie in state from 2:00PM until 3:00PM with services beginning at 3:00PM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Hope Second Advent Christian Church, 6804 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Inurnment will be held at Hope Second Advent Christian Church Cemetery at a later date.

He was a charter member of Hope Second Advent Christian Church. He worked at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry for over 44 years. He also was the owner and operator of Bill Greene Insulation Company.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years Doris Tomberlin Greene, son, Jeff Greene (Sonya), daughters, Karen Greene Heavner (Mike), Teresa Clawson (Dennis), and Kristy Parker (Stephen); eight grandchildren, Dallas Greene ( Lindsay), Holli Rushing (Jeremy), Matthew Rushing, Tyler Clawson (Casey), Katie Allen (Thomas), Redmon Parker (Amber), Chandler Parker (Catie) and Joshua Parker (Sarah); seven great-grandchildren, Kloie Greene, Bryson Greene, Peyton Rushing, Lexi Rushing, Landon Rushing, Maddie Allen and Ryleigh Clawson; brother, Ray Greene and sister, Rachel Plyler.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
